Organisation search
Enter an organisation name, acronym, or part of a name here:
The organisation search looks for matches between the text you enter in the search box and the names
and acronyms of all organisations (and units within organisations) included in the database.
The search will look for any occurrence of the combination of letters you have entered, whether in a
whole word or in a part of a word in the database. So, for example, if you enter bio you will
find organisations whose names include the words biological, biology, biosciences, biotechnology, etc.
Similarly if you enter peter you will find organisations whose names include Peterborough or
Lampeter. (You may also enter your own wildcard * or %; if at the beginning or end of a word this will
not affect the search, but you could use it within a word to narrow down your search, e.g. bio*al
would find organisations containing biological or biochemical .)
If you enter more than one word in the search box these will be treated as though there was a logical
AND between them. So, for example, if you search for cambridge university you will find Cambridge
University Press and you will also find all units within the University of Cambridge. Environment Agency
will produce quite a lot of results but you can sort these using the column header for organisation
name to collect together the ones you are interested in.
Searches will ignore double quotes placed around your search phrase and treat the words as though they
were individual words, each with a wildcard character at the beginning and at the end, and with a logical
AND placed between each word and the next.
The search is not case-sensitive.
